The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) was one of the most important grassroots organizations in modern Canadian history. And this year, it closed its doors.
AIDS Action Now! began as a radical offshoot of the AIDS Committee of Toronto. Their protests helped lead to the replacement of federal health minister Jake Epp, who largely ignored the AIDS crisis.
